We live in a country that promotes productivity, independence, constant striving, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic standards.
At Fresh Perspectives Counseling, I believe that therapy is a chance to explore how we can better meet our needs by adjusting our standards, slowing down, and building our sense of community and connectedness.
My Approach to Therapy
If you’re looking for therapy appointments that feel conversational and welcoming while we work on managing mood changes, PTSD symptoms, or adjusting to a major life event, then I might be a great fit for you. I offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) approaches in my sessions.
It is important to me to be genuine and approachable. I value building a professional relationship based on support, accountability, and integrating evidence-based practices and skills in a way that is understandable, not overly clinical. I want to help you believe that therapy can work for you.
Overall, I want my clients to leave sessions feeling understood and appreciated for who they genuinely are, less caught up in self-criticism, fear, or self-doubt, and empowered to use coping skills in daily life.
I accept the following insurance plans: UPMC, Highmark and Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans, Aetna, United Healthcare, Optum, and Medicare. Self-pay is available as well.
